Ms. Strohm has been with Step Up since July 1, 2016. Prior to working with Step Up, Ms. Strohm was the Director of Fund Development at A Community of Friends, a nonprofit affordable housing developer with a focus on serving formerly homeless individuals. She has worked in the nonprofit sector as a fundraising, marketing and administrative officer for more than nine years. Prior to that time, she volunteered her time and worked as a consultant to other nonprofits. She finds it rewarding to utilize her skills and talents “for good” in the nonprofit sector and is excited to be a part of Step Up as it grows and expands its services.
Ms. Strohm wrote for television in one hour dramas for Spelling, NBC and Touchstone Television. She taught high school English in South Central Los Angeles, served as a juvenile probation officer, and directed a battered women’s shelter and sexual assault center.
Ms. Strohm holds a Masters in Professional Writing from the University of Southern California, a Masters in Liberal Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in English/Women’s Studies from The Wichita State University.
She has lived in Los Angeles since 1995 and lives in the San Fernando Valley with her two daughters, her dog and two cats.
