Year In Review

Dear Friend,

For 25 years, individuals, families, and communities affected by mental illness have relied on Step Up on Second. 2012 has been quite a year, thanks to the unwavering support and dedication of people like you. Please support Step Up on Second by making your 2012 contribution today.

Step Up on Vine, is opening with 34 units bringing us that much closer to fulfilling our Clinton Global Initiative Commitment-to-Action. We’re reaching out to even more of our vulnerable neighbors in Hollywood.

8 formerly homeless individuals moved from the street to home in our Michael’s Village. 10 formerly homeless individuals moved into supportive housing at our newest acquisition, The Tammy. Nearly 40,000 meals were served to individuals at Step Up on Second in Santa Monica, and we completed a major renovation of our original building there.

More than 180 individuals participated in our supported employment training and placement program. In Hollywood, we brought together investors and donors resulting in millions of dollars to spur the acquisition and development of sustainable permanent supportive housing.

And that’s just the start. Last month, we announced a brand new program – the Tower Garden Project – to empower members to live a healthier lifestyle and to inspire individuals, families, communities, and corporations to make health and wellness a priority. All of these things are inspiring and uplifting progress, and all of them have been accomplished because of supporters like you. Thank you!

In the coming year, I hope you’ll continue to join us, to give new hope to those who need it, and to foster positive change in our own backyard. With your support, we’ll stay on track to help 200 chronically homeless individuals affected by mental illness in Los Angeles find help, hope, and a home by 2014.

I wish you and your family a healthy and happy holiday season, and all the best in the coming new year.

Sincerely,

Tod Signature
