In honor of Mother’s Day and all our loved ones

Susan Dempsay May 8th blogDuring Mental Health Month Step Up is delighted to pay tribute to its “Founding Mother,” Susan Dempsay . Step Up on Second and Daniel’s Place were founded and nurtured by Dempsay to provide a safe place for individuals experiencing mental health issues to access supportive services and activities on the Westside of Los Angeles. In honor of her emblematic work, Step Up has created the Friends of Susan Dempsay Fund! The Friends of Susan Dempsay Fund was established to help meet the socialization and educational needs of Step Up members unable to get or keep up a job, or attend school. The fund is designated and restricted to help Step Up member’s pursuit of activities or personal necessities that, with limited incomes, they are unable to afford otherwise. Click here to learn how it works. Susan had the ability to calm, and speak with authority, because she walked the journey with her own loved one. Through the decades, Susan’s reassurances have given new heart, and a stiffened spine to many a parent. In honor of Mother’s Day, and all our loved ones, please consider a gift to the Friends of Susan Dempsay Fund!
