Daniel’s Place, located in Santa Monica, provides a supportive environment for young adults between the ages of 16-28 with serious mental health conditions such as depression, bipolar and schizophrenia disorders and.  At Daniel’s Place, youth have access to mental health and substance abuse support, employment and educational training, and an opportunity to find a permanent home. Families of youth experiencing mental health conditions also find support through Daniel’s Place’s family support groups.  The location also serves as a drop-in center fostering hope, wellness, and recovery for youth experiencing homelessness with access to meals, computers, showers, laundry and a supportive environment to relax and connect with others.

Daniel’s Place was the first TAY drop-in center in L. A. County and one of the first in the nation and is named after Daniel Greenberg, a scholar, athlete, actor, humanitarian and outreach worker at Step Up.  On September 25, 2019, Step Up will mark the 20th Anniversary of Daniel’s Place with a coming of age celebration honoring Daniel’s father, Arthur Greenberg and Step Up Founder, Susan Dempsay.
