Members of Step Up on Second and Daniel’s Place have a chance to take numerous classes that focus on visual, writing and performing arts. The involvement of our members in our Art Heals Gallery program, our Brainstorm writing sessions, or our music and poetry classes, offers them a chance to find a sense of purpose and identity, which helps to facilitate empowerment, foster change and progress towards reintegration into society. The personal growth and improvement in socialization skills, confidence and self-esteem in our members due to their involvement in our art programs is phenomenal and we are looking to continue that prospect.

Art Heals Gallery & Learning Center

The members and staff of Step Up on Second have created an innovative ART HEALS GALLERY and Learning Center at Step Up on Fifth. The ART HEALS GALLERY exhibits the artwork of Step Up on Second and Daniel’s Place members. The Learning Center is lab offering classes in computer skills. This highly-visible, ART HEALS GALLERY & Learning Center exhibit space also offers exciting benefits to Corporate Sponsors as well. Step Up on Second is pleased to offer prime commercial placement of sponsor recognition signage at 1548 5th Street (adjacent to the Fred Segal Santa Monica retail store).
