We have the following positions currently open:

 

LIFE SKILLS COORDINATOR

The Life Sills Coordinator is responsible for assisting formerly homeless Step Up residents to attain and maintain optimal quality of life via home and phone contacts, support in academic efforts and providing social opportunities.  B.A. in psychology or a related field or 2 years of experience working with mentally ill adults in a community setting preferred.  Must have own transportation and current driver’s license.

SERVICE COORDINATOR (CASE MANAGEMENT) I

The Service Coordinator provides case management mental health services for adults with psychiatric diagnosis & mental health disabilities to improve their quality of life by achieving their highest level of functioning.  Must have B.A. in psychology or a related field or 3 years of experience working with mentally ill adults in a community setting. Case management experience is essential, including the ability to chart patient progress to meet documentation requirements.  Interview will involve a review of this ability. Must have own transportation and current driver’s license.

SERVICE COORDINATOR II

The Service Coordinator provides case management mental health services for adults with psychiatric diagnosis & mental health disabilities to improve their quality of life by achieving their highest level of functioning.  Masters in Counseling Psychology or Social Work, MFT, LCSW and must be license-eligible.  Experience in working with mentally ill adults in a community setting.  Case management experience is essential, also having the ability to chart patient progress to meet documentation requirements.  Interview will involve a review of this ability.  Must have own transportation and current California Driver’s License and insurance.  Position requires frequent driving and transporting.

GRANT WRITER

This position is responsible for researching grant opportunities and for writing proposals for foundation grants and some government grants, tracking grant reports, writing promotional literature, assisting with fundraising activities and providing support to the Development Director.  Minimum of 2 years of fundraising experience.  Proven writing ability.  Must be detail oriented.  Superior problem solving and critical thinking is necessary.   Excellent command of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.  Occasional driving and evenings required.

Volunteering at Step Up

Volunteers are an integral part of our program. Volunteers run weekly interest groups for our members (like creative writing and art) as well as help out in our kitchen, assist in day-to-day member services and other important activities.
